With the help of the Austin Community and our homeless brothers and sisters, Genesis Gardens has constructed a Mini-Farm in the heart of the Community First! Village. As part of Mobile Loaves & Fishes (an Austin-born ministry serving the homeless on a national level), Genesis Gardens has 120 fruit trees, 40 chickens, 12 community garden beds, and over 4000 square feet of organic vegetable production. Every Saturday, they build just a little more of this beautiful, creative, and edible food forest and on January 10th, the Catholic Healthcare Guild of Central Texas will be a part of it!

*Note-- there is more than one version of this address in Austin so please make sure you include the zip code in your GPS. It will be the Hog Eye near the intersection of Hog Eye Rd and Decker Ln.
What to bring: Lots of water, work gloves, bug spray with deet
What to wear: Long pants and closed toe shoes
What to expect: From 8:30-11:30 you will be helping build this wonderful community. At 11:30, there will be a brunch using many of the gifts from the farm program and their Cowboy gourmet chef, Dennis.
Including the family: Kids > 8 are considered workers so will be given a shovel and put to work. Kids < 8 are welcome to come and play but will need a sitter to keep them safe.
